Heart Of Gold Community Three Stars Of The Week: Week 4

The Vegas Golden Knights have announced the recipients of their Heart Of Gold Community Three Stars Of The Week initiative for this week. This program recognizes extraordinary individuals throughout Nevada who are finding ways to make a difference during the COVID-19 health crisis.

Every week, community members can click here to nominate someone they know who is making a difference in the community. Nominations for the week will be accepted until that Thursday at 10 a.m. A panel of judges from the Vegas Golden Knights will review all submissions and the three outstanding Nevadans will be recognized on Fridays through the team's social platforms. Individuals nominated must live in Nevada.

Gary Kilmer

When a friend of Gary’s who works in healthcare came to him asking if he could help design and supply PPE, Gary jumped right into action. He designed several prototypes using plastic drop cloth an once he landed on a winning design, he and his partner and be cranking out hospital gowns ever since helping to keep Vegas nurses and doctors safe!

Rendell Nuezca

Rendell, the driver of a water delivery truck, has been working hard to stick to his route and continue making deliveries to clients, even though doing so puts himself in harms way. His delivery route includes stops at McCarran International Airport and UMC Hospital, ensuring that everyone on the frontlines is staying hydrated and healthy during this time.

Emory Deschamps

Emory is the Supply Chain Director at Centennial Hills and is the primary reason his colleagues have adequate numbers of PPE. Upon noticing a disruption in the supply chain, he implemented efforts to gather and count the PPE on hand and exhausted all avenues to obtain supplies. His efforts ensured that his coworkers would be able to continue utilizing N-95 masks throughout the crisis.
