Most Valuable Teacher... Mrs. Avery!👏
In February, Carolyn Avery, sixth-grade science teacher at Bob Miller Middle School, was first recognized as the NHL/NHLPA Future Goals Most Valuable Teacher of the Month.
From amongst 19 other nominees across the United States and Canada, Mrs. Avery was selected to be celebrated in the league-wide contest hosted by the NHL, NHLPA and EVERFI.
This May, Mrs. Avery was named the 2022 NHL/NHLPA Future Goals Most Valuable Teacher of the Year! With Mrs. Avery’s commitment to her students and the community, Nicole Lehman-Donadio, principal at Bob Miller Middle School, said “she's all about making a difference.”
For her exceptional instructional leadership, the well deserving Mrs. Avery was received a custom VGK jersey, a congratulatory message from Golden Knight’s captain, Mark Stone, and will be recognized with a special in-arena moment during a Golden Knights game next season.
SAP also donated $20,000 to the Clark County School district to be used towards Environmental Sustainability Resources. "I can share all of this with the kids," Avery said. "It's all for them. I'm glad the community was behind me every step of the way."
Join us in giving Mrs. Avery, Bob Miller’s astounding and estimable teacher, a warm congratulations and a sincere thanks for all she does!
