VGK And KTNV Team Up For 13 Days And Knights Of Giving
During the holiday season, providing basic necessities — let alone gifts — for deserving individuals of the Las Vegas community can be a struggle for many. That’s why the Vegas Golden Knights, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation and KTNV Channel 13 teamed up to make the season a little brighter for deserving families around the valley.
The 13 Days and Knights of Giving is a holiday program that recognizes local community members who are in need of a miracle. After sifting through hundreds of nominations, a panel of judges selected 13 of the most compelling stories to feature on KTNV and receive a donation from the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
Overall, the VGK Foundation gave more than $60,000 in needed items to help the selected individuals continue to help the community, as well as servicing individuals who needed assistance getting back on their feet after experiencing hardships. Some of these include an extended stay hotel so that a family could be under one roof after a fire, money toward medical bills, an ADA accessible shower and assisted funding towards a wheelchair accessible van for a deserving teacher
To top off the program, all recipients were invited to an event at City National Arena where they received their gifts and were treated to a free private skate session for all of the honorees.
Thank you to all who attended!
