Fan Fest 2020
Over 4,000 Medieval Maniacs flocked to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center this past Saturday for the team’s third annual Fan Fest—A free and open to the public event where fans had the opportunity to interact with Golden Knights players and broadcasters.
It was an afternoon for all ages, presented by The D Las Vegas.
There were carnival games, face-painting, cornhole, an inflatable obstacle course, jousting (which may or may not have gotten out of hand between VGK broadcasters Daren Millard and Gary Lawless), and plenty of food and drink on hand.
A couple of the Golden Knights youngsters, Gage Quinney, Zach Whitecloud and Nic Roy even took some time to teach a youth street hockey clinic.
Up on stage things got even better.
Knights players Nick Holden and Nate Schmidt took on Shea Theodore and Alex Tuch in a game of “Knightlyweds” to see which teammates knew each other better. It’s safe to say Theo and Tuchy have a real connection, although when it came to Theodore’s biggest fear, Tuch suggested “having a full set of teeth” may be atop the list!
A number of players, VGK broadcasters and season-ticket members also took part in a friendly game of “Fan-ily Feud” with topics covering all things Vegas, game day and ice hockey!
Golden Knights play-by-play man Dave Goucher and analyst Shane Hnidy also hosted a Q&A with Head Coach Pete DeBoer and player panel before all was said and done.
Thank you to all of the fans who made it out to the third annual Fan Fest. We can’t wait to continue the fun next year!
