VGK Embraces #HockeyFightsCancer
On April 4th, the Golden Knights celebrated Hockey Fights Cancer, which is meant to raise awareness for cancer and encourages individuals to get screened for cancer to increase the odds of early detection.
The Golden Knights Foundation auctioned off the warm up jerseys of the players throughout the game and ended up raising $130,000, some of which goes straight to Shea Theodoreβs Power Play Fund. Shea was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2019, and since then, his Power Play Fund helps pay for people, who otherwise would not be able, to get treated and screened for cancer early on.
