Knight Life - Episode 10
This week’s episode of Knight Life starts in Music City!
While the Golden Knights were in town to show down with the Nashville Predators, Gary Lawless linked up with up-and-coming country singer/songwriter Madison Krebs.
That name probably rings a bell for most VGK fans, as her younger brother Peyton Krebs was drafted by the Knights in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft and recently inked an entry-level contract.
“It’s really cool to see Peyton and his dreams starting to manifest and come true,” said Madison. “I’m working hard. I’m chasing after my own dreams as well, and dreams can come true for anybody if you put your head down and work hard.”
Next, Golden Knights Rinkside Reporter Stormy Buonantony helps VGK fans get their holiday shopping started as a guest employee at the Arsenal on “Gold Friday.”
Fans were in line as early as 3 o’clock in the morning to gear up for the holidays and get their hands on an exclusive poster of Marc-Andre Fleury’s spectacular diving save against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Later, Buonantony also sat down with a number of Golden Knights players to find out which color tape they prefer on their hockey sticks.
Fun Fact: Defenseman Deryk Engelland said he’s always used black tape, but when he played forward for Pittsburgh for 20 games he switched to white.
Finally, Gary Lawless returns— but this time he’s in the Big Apple for a behind the scenes look at the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.
The group is on-call from New York watching every game across the league in real time to monitor player conduct, and Lawless joined formed enforcer turned head of the department George Parros for a front row seat to the action on a busy game night!
“In this department we like to say we love good, hard, clean hockey. We love big hits. We love to see the game played in a physical manner. It’s part of what makes the game great... but at the same time we have to be sure nothing’s over the line.”
