Engelland Family Celebrates Vegas Born Heroes
Deryk Engelland has been one of the most active members of the Golden Knights in the Las Vegas community since the team arrived in town. On Saturday, he and his wife, Melissa, hosted an event at Zappos headquarters for their Engo’s Vegas Born Heroes Foundation.
The Foundation celebrates people who go above and beyond in the Las Vegas community. Each hero was recognized at a VGK home game during the 2018-19 season.
Special signs were made for each hero to celebrate the work they do in Las Vegas. The signs lined the red carpet as guests arrived in style.
Guests at the event had endless activities to do at the event including caricatures, fortune-telling, animals to take photos with, arcade games and raffles to enter.
Chance and Big D were there to support the Engellands and interact with guests.
The employees at Zappos put on a first-class event as the local heroes and their families enjoyed a night of food, drink and fun.
At the end of the event, the Engellands donated $1,500 to each hero in attendance to help them further the important work they’re doing in the community. Thank you to the people who work so hard for others in Las Vegas!
