#VGKWorldwide June Fan Of The Month

June’s fan of the month represents VGK Worldwide in Hawaii. Ira is originally from and still lives on the island of Oahu. Like many other Hawaiians, he often refers to Las Vegas as the “Ninth Island”.

“I’ve been a Golden Knights fan since day one,” said Ira. “I always wanted to get into hockey, but it was hard to just jump on with any team. So, when the NHL announced the Vegas Golden Knights, I was onboard from the beginning.”

Ira joined the VGK Worldwide community immediately after its inception in April of 2019 to connect with other fans around the globe.

“My current favorite player is Mark Stone because he is a force on both sides of the ice and he brings lots of energy and enthusiasm,” he said. “I also am a fan of James Neal. Even though we only had him the first year, I feel he was a big leader and he set the tone.”

Ira has already visited Las Vegas multiple times to attend games at The Fortress. His very first trip included late-game heroics from Nate Schmidt, as the defenseman played strong against his former team.

“My first game was in Las Vegas on December 4, 2018 against the Capitals,” said Ira. “We scored two goals in the last minute and a half of the game, and will be a moment I’ll never forget.”

While he is back home in Oahu, Ira keeps up by watching games on TV and following the Golden Knights on each of the team’s social platforms.
