#VGKWorldwide Member Profile: Scott Brunner
The Golden Knights are celebrating members of their worldwide fanbase who have joined the #VGKWorldwide family! Let’s meet VGK Worldwide member Scott Brunner!
Brunner became interested by the Golden Knights in June 2016 when the concept of Vegas Hockey was born. He was able to celebrate his new favorite team in November 2016 when the name Vegas Golden Knights was revealed. Since then, Brunner has been a loyal VGK fan.
A love for hockey wasn’t something that Brunner always had. It was important for him to get in on being a Golden Knights fan from the ground floor so that he could learn to love the team as he learned to love the game. He said it made sense for him to follow a new team because of how new he was to hockey.
Having spent most of his life in the Cleveland area, Brunner thought it was a no-brainer to join the VGK Worldwide family because it gave him an official branding and voice for his fanhood. He’s thrilled that Golden Knights fans around the world have been given a voice through the VGK Worldwide family.
Brunner’s favorite player is Nate Schmidt because he admires Schmidt’s love and respect for hockey. His favorite VGK memory is from watching the team’s first home game against the Arizona Coyotes. He said he loved how the organization responded to the tragedy of October 1, 2017 and he could see the embodiment of Vegas Strong during that game.
Since he lives in Ohio, Brunner has not been able to come out to T-Mobile Arena for a Golden Knights home game, but that hasn’t stopped him from supporting the team. He’s been to two road games: one at Buffalo in March of 2018 and one at Detroit in February of 2019. Both games were wins for the Golden Knights and Brunner enjoyed being part of the Vegas contingents at each game.
This season, Brunner wants to make it out to Vegas for a game and hopes to meet fellow VGK Worldwide members!
