#VGKWorldwide January Fan Of The Month

January’s VGK Worldwide Fan Of The Month, Greg, comes all the way from England. Greg was born and raised in London and now lives in Chelmsford, a suburb just outside of London. Although a long time hockey fan, he did not have a favorite NHL team until a recent trip to Las Vegas.

“Last January we flew out to Vegas to get married in the Valley of Fire,” said Gregory. “The moment we set foot in Vegas we got caught up in the hysteria. We love hockey, we love Vegas and we had to be Golden Knights.”

Greg’s family recently grew bigger with the birth of his first child, who is also a supporter of Golden Knights’ hockey.

“Games usually start at 3 a.m. local time, so having a 5-month-old helps wake me up for the games,” he said.

He considers fellow European William Karlsson to be his favorite player and this season’s overtime win in Nashville to be one of his favorite moments as a fan.

“I tend to have to watch games quietly at that time of night, but couldn't help nearly waking up the whole house when Pacioretty scored with only 0.3 seconds left.”

Greg joined VGK Worldwide to meet fellow fans across the country. He loves the interaction within the exclusive VGK Worldwide Facebook group.

“Following the Golden Knights and being part of the community on Facebook with other fans around the globe is great,” he said. “When something happens in a game, being able to see the discussions within the group is awesome.”

Despite the challenge of traveling with a newborn, Greg hopes to make it back to Las Vegas in the near future to watch his first Golden Knights game at T-Mobile Arena.
